What can I import?

You can upload any file containing your existing OKRs, users, and teams.

The system extracts:

  • Objectives - your high-level goals, grouped correctly.

  • Key Results - extracted with type (Numeric, Milestone, or Delivery), start value, target value, and units where found. Learn more about Key Result types.

  • Users - names and entities pulled from the file and created in the database.

  • Teams - team names identified and created, ready to be assigned to OKRs. Learn more about Teams.

How does the import work?

The import runs in a few steps:

  1. Upload - choose a file from your computer and upload it. Supported formats include XLSX, DOC, PDF, CSV, slides (PPTX), and images. You do not need to reformat your files or follow any specific template, the AI reads whatever you have.

  2. Processing - the AI analyses your file and extracts Objectives, Key Results, users, and teams. This usually takes a few seconds.

  3. Review - before anything is saved, you see the full extraction. You can edit Objectives, refine Key Results, fix ownership, and adjust targets. This keeps you in control while still avoiding most of the manual effort.

  4. Confirm - once you're happy with the extracted data, confirm the import. Your OKRs, users, and teams are created in the Workspace ready to use.

Ownership

During import, the system looks for team names and individual owner names in your file. Where a match is found against existing Users and Teams in your Workspace, ownership is assigned automatically. You can review and adjust this in the Review step before confirming. This means you start with every OKR already assigned to someone, so nothing gets missed.

For the best ownership matching, it helps to import your users and teams before importing your OKRs. That way the system can match names in your OKR file against real Users and Teams already in your Workspace. You can do separate uploads for users / teams and for OKRs.

Choosing a Cycle

The import runs into the currently selected Cycle. You can import into any existing Cycle - the current one if you are mid-quarter, or a future one if you are planning ahead. If you have not created any Cycles yet, do that first from Settings.

Re-importing and adding more OKRs

You can run the import as many times as you like. Each import adds new records - it does not overwrite existing ones. This means you can import OKRs in batches, or bring in a new quarter's OKRs from a fresh file, without affecting anything already in your Workspace.
